In 2015, we set up our company to be "service-based," not "sales-based" as a 1099 independent contractor, with no affiliation, influence or conflict of interest from any insurance company at all. We are paid a fixed fee-for-service set each year directly by the Center for Medicare Services (CMS). The Medicare SmartStart Program™ is an educational service we offer to those who need help with the Medicare planning process.

This makes us unique and different, unlike other options around the area, because the money we make is based solely on the number of people we help. We do not need to meet monthly sales quotas and are not bribed, bought-off, or bonused based on persuading or pushing you to pick one plan over another. 

For starters, we are a "service-based" company --- NOT a "sales-based" company.

This means we have no affiliation with any Insurance Company, so you can trust that any conversation we have with you has no hidden incentive, no influence, and no conflict of interest...without question and without compromise.

And while everyone else, whether online, over-the-phone, or in-person, starts with "Let me show you these great coverage choices" (which is sales speak for here's why you should buy what I'm trying to sell you), we do the complete opposite.

We start with a conversation about you and your unique needs. We want you to share your situation and understand the benefits you are entitled to for all that money they've taken from your paycheck over the last 30 or 40 years.

Typically, when you sign up for Medicare the traditional way, it takes upwards of 3 months for the complete the entire enrollment cycle. (1) fill out and file your forms, process your paperwork, approve your application and finally issue your Medicare ID.

It can be a lengthy, long amount of time to anxiously await, wondering and worrying if you did things correctly, on time and without error...

Here are my 3 tips you can use to questions that most people never know to ask...

1. Will the person, or place, be compensated by the company they work for? (conflict of interest to their conversation).

2. Are they offering a planning service, or selling you something? (look for third-party educational material VS branded sales material trying to sell you something specific from a certain company).

3. What other services do they offer? It is my belief to have documented authority, credibility and expertise, you must be focused on a single niche, not mediocre at many. (as the saying goes "jack of all trades, master of none).
